Dr. Dan Kalish
Dan Kalish, DC, IFMCP, is the founder of the Kalish Institute, an online educational organization dedicated to helping clinicians build successful Integrative and Functional Medicine practices through advanced clinical training, laboratory interpretation, patient communication, and practice implementation.
Since 2006, the Kalish Institute has trained more than 10,000 practitioners worldwide. Its graduates include clinicians working in private practice as well as physicians affiliated with leading institutions, including Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Kalish has served as lead faculty for the Institute for Functional Medicine’s Practice Implementation program, had conducted research on his clinical model with the Mayo Clinic and has participated as faculty in many professional conferences and training programs over the past 30 years.
Currently, his primary teaching focus is the Kalish Institute’s advanced Mentorship and Longevity Certification programs. These interactive clinical training programs emphasize functional laboratory interpretation, case analysis, treatment planning, patient communication, and the practical application of Functional Medicine in clinical practice.
Much of Dr. Kalish’s curriculum has been influenced by the scientific work of Dr. Richard S. Lord, a pioneer in functional laboratory testing and biochemical assessment. Dr. Kalish has translated these foundational scientific concepts into structured clinical systems that help practitioners interpret complex laboratory findings and apply them effectively in patient care.
He is the author of three books: The Five Pillars to Building a Successful Practice, The Kalish Method: Healing the Body, Mapping the Mind, and Your Guide to Healthy Hormones.
Dr. Kalish spent two years in formal monastic training in Asia. He studied at a Zen monastery in Japan and lived in a forest monastery in Thailand, where he practiced meditation and transcribed Buddhist texts. These experiences profoundly shaped his approach to health, healing, and the relationship between physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Today, Dr. Kalish continues to develop advanced clinical education programs in Functional Medicine, longevity medicine, laboratory interpretation, and practice implementation.
